No Contest! FB Does it Again...

You know, I totally get having to pay for advertising. FB is a business. It is also a free service. For that I am grateful, but advertising on FB is expensive! We have paid for advertising a few times when we could afford it.

We are a small family-operated business. Our kids make the boxes until we can afford to have them manufactured. My husband has a "real" job while we are working to make a go of this business. We really do believe that GAB will change the way that people garden and the way that people see gardening. FB could be a big help in spreading the word.

It is really frustrating .to be told that we can not do give-aways on FB.  Before the FB clamp-down last year, I saw our numbers hit over 25,000 views in one night. Soon after that, we were lucky to have 50 views. When I pay for advertising, itls like they open the flood gate and people see our page. When we don't pay, there is barely a trickle.

I was excited the other night that so many people responded to our (unpaid) post about a box give away. Your comments really warmed my heart. I believe that there is a need for our product. FB is one way to share what we do with others, but FB is not the only form of advertising that we use. It's just the easiest for me. I'm not a big fan of Twitter. I've tried tweeting, but I really like FB for posting pictures of what I'm growing. Twitter just doesn't feel the same to me, but I'm willing to give it a try again. Garden Anywhere Box is on Twitter, but I think I only have like seven followers. If I switched to giveaways on Twitter, you'd have to find and follow me to stay informed.

We are working on other sources of advertising and should have a youtube channel for Garden Anywhere Box. In addition to our little gardening gnomes that make the boxes, we also have amazingly talented artist gnomes. This part of the family is busily making cartoons that teach about the boxes. I'm really excited for you to see these cartoons. They are funny and educational.

I'll try doing a give-away on Twitter. I'll put a link on FB in a couple of weeks. You'll have to find me on Twitter or it will be a contest between seven people...:)

Thank you for your support as we try to share our business with others and spread the word about an easy way to garden. No weeds. Less water. Portable. Garden Anywhere Box-gardening for our future.

  1. I don't tweet. Never saw the interest. And my phone was disconnected yesterday and I probably won't get it back for months. Yet even when I do I won't tweet.
I WILL follow you on YouTube and you can always remind us of YouTube posts with contests or giveaways on Facebook or by email. But honestly I don't remember to check blogs unless reminded on Facebook. GRRR Facebook.

  2. I would like to enter the contest. The reason I would try is because, I've always wanted to grow my own food, but for some reason I'm terribly bad at it :(
